Face in the Crowd

“You gotta be a saint to stand all the power that little box gives you”

Can’t believe I missed this film until yesterday – “A Face in the Crowd” starring Andy Griffith and Patricia Neal. It painfully shows how thin the line one has to ride to live the life of someone famous and not become completely submerged by self-absorption. A famous persona can distort a good person’s eyesight or completely obscure a person’s true identity for better or worse. The film also lays open the public’s collective gullibility. Andy Griffith is terrific in it and not his usual role. It’s definitely worth the time spent viewing.
