  1. That’s the one…. I love that Minghella film for so many reasons. It’s such a sweet story of love, loss and finding a new start. I also laugh my way through the “Five Easy Pieces” scene.

  2. Lisa,
Seriously, I thought I was the only one who saw this movie. I mention it to people and they go ‘huh?’ Around that same time in the late 80s, a girl I worked with and I watched it along with another strange feature called Tie me up, Tie me down. This one had scenes that change color chromatic theme, like one scene red, another scene blue-ish, another green-ish. It was a weird, curious film. Have you heard of it? Don’t know director.

  3. Jenn,

I have heard of that film, it was mentioned in “Le Divorce” (Naomi Watts). I guess it was a film by Padro Almodovar – haven’t seen it myself. The color change sounds like it could be either interesting or sort of annoying….which was it?

  4. Not annoying…made it quite interesting, from what I remember, perhaps evoking the mood of the scene. You know the story line? This guy holds her hostage, and she falls in love with him and they get married. Of course, there’s so much more to it…I haven’t seen it in a long, long time.

  5. Very cool collection…but wait, no ‘Being John Malkovich’, ‘Withnail & I’, or ‘Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind’? Teasing!

Btw, have you seen ‘2 Days in Paris’ with Julia Delphy? Man, I reckon that’s one of the best’relationship’ movies ever made.

  6. Thanks…and it’s funny because I had the thought just recently that I should rent ‘Eternal Sunshine’!

I did see ‘2 Days in Paris’ and loved it. I agree it was true to life wasn’t it?! Love Delpy & Goldberg. Adam has a very cool Tumblr account where he’s been posting photographs & he’s documenting his trip back to LA on a separate account called: Home is where the dog is. You might dig it too.

    • I did discover it, and I do dig it immensely! Thanks to you, cause I followed your link in ‘recommended sites’.

You have to see ‘Eternal’! It’s one of those essential one’s to watch.

Have yourself a great new year!

  7. Excellent – he’s got that dry humor I love, glad you found it. I will definitely make a point to see ‘Eternal’ soon.

You have a great new year too!

  8. Nice list, I like many of those films (and own them).

Do you know he work of the director, Peter Weir? One of his best is, The Year of Living Dangerously. Amazing film. He also did Witness and Master and Commander, also great.
